Málaga Airport now has 18 Cardiac Rescue Points which are equipped with Defibrillators to assist passengers in the event of cardiac arrest.
Málaga has become a Cardiac-Protected Airport as part of the Spanish Airport Authority Aena's national plan to equip all their airports with Life Support Points.
The Cardiac Rescue Points are spread across all three terminals and each one clearly indicates what steps to follow if someone is having a suspected heart attack, so that they can be handled safely and effectively by non-medical staff. There are also authorised airport personnel who have undergone a voluntary basic training course
