Alhambra Lyons Returned

A team of more than 200 people have been working on the restoration of the 12 marble Alhambra Lyons at a cost of €2.1M.

They have all been removed for the works to be undertaken but the first one was returned to its original base yesterday in Patio de Los Leones so if you're flying into Malaga Airport then you can see it in Granada with its fabulous Alhambra Palace which is only a short drive away.

They have been on show to the public in the crypt of the Carlos V Palace since their restoration and Lion number 8 which weighs more than 300 kilos will be joined by his companions by the New Year.

The patio has not yet been fully restored, but is expected to be completed in the spring of 2012.
