Following a meeting last night Iberia ground staff have cancelled their strike action after reaching a deal which guarantees employment until the end of 2014. It comes just three days after unions had called for strike action for every Monday and Friday from February 3rd.
The demonstration by the ground staff was against the plans to set up a new low-cost carrier Iberia Express.
The pilots strike is still going ahead with a total of 289 flights expected to be lost on 25th, 27th and 30th of January. This represents 66% of the flights programmed on the three days.
