As soon as the Spanish Three Kings celebration is over tomorrow shopping on the Costa del Sol will start in earnest with the sales starting on Satruday 7th January.
The think I like about the Spanish sales is that for the most part they are real reductions and not just cheap stock brought in that they want to get rid of. If you are planning to go to the sales on Saturday our tip is to get there when the doors open (usually at 10:00 pm) as if you leave it later in the day places like La Canada, Zara and El Corte Ingles will be packed.
Costa del Sol retailers are already reporting that Monday was their busiest day of the festive period. Two-thirds of Spanish consumers are expected to go to the sales with clothes being the favourite buy as they usually have the largest mark-down.
Shops in Portugal have reported that they have been full of Spanish customers since the sales began there December 28th with many people making the journey across the border to grab the bargains.
