The Spanish multinational Ferrovial no longer has a controlling share in the British Airports Authority (BAA). In the UK BAA owns Heathrow, Stansted and Southampton airports in the South East of England, and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen Airports in Scotland.
Ferrovial sent a letter to the National Commission for Market Values last Wednesday saying they had sold 5.8% of BAA to two funds managed by Alinda. This now leaves Ferrovial with a 49.9% share in BAA with five members on the board, compared to six for the other shareholders.
This sale pays off €14.8 billion of debt and plus valĂas for 900 million for Ferrovial.
